Leading House MENA: Joint call for projects Morocco-Switzerland 2024

It aims at strengthening the collaboration between Swiss and Moroccan institutions by allocating funding to research and development projects involving at least one Moroccan doctoral student. Submission deadline: 22 April 2024

The goal of this instrument is to reach the following cooperation objectives:

  • Support young researchers.
  • Help the networking between Moroccan and Swiss researchers to apply for international calls for projects.
  • Encourage mobility for professors, researchers and doctoral students.

The call for projects is open to the following disciplines:

  • Education sciences
  • Cognitive sciences
  • Sustainable water management
  • Biotechnology

To be eligible, a project must be supported by at least one Moroccan and one Swiss applicant. On the Moroccan side, research teams belonging to universities, public-private partnership universities, public research establishments and non-university higher education establishments are eligible for funding. On the Swiss side, scientists attached to a federal institute of technology, a cantonal university, a university of applied sciences or a university of teacher education, as well as to a public research institution are eligible.

The maximum amount that can be requested is CHF 25,000 for the Switzerland-based partner(s) and MAD 250,000 for the Morocco-based partner(s). Projects will be funded for a maximum of 24 months.
